Spring is Here?...
I thought that a few days ago Spring had actually arrived here in East Central Illinois but after the last couple of days, I guess I was wrong. Last Monday I grilled outside for the first time this "new" season. It was sunny, 80 degrees, shorts and t-shirt, flip-flops on my feet, cold Budweiser in my hand, along with my brand new grilling utensils, ready to be used for the first time, beer brats, hamburger patties and hotdogs ready to be cooked to the delight of my stomach and my family and friends. We had a great time. We ate too much, drank too much but had a great time.
I got to listen to people mowing their lawns for the first time, I worked on my mower but still didn't use it. I'm stubborn when it comes to mowing the grass that first time of the year. I got to sit down and watch baseball as that season started on Sunday night, even though my 2006 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals didn't win and are starting off a little slow but there is still 159 games to go. That seems so LONG ago.
Two days later, I had to turn my furnace back on, close the windows that have been open for a week or so, dig out my winter clothes again and put on socks so my feet didn't freeze. The temps dipped down into the 20-30 degree area, a freeze warning went out for my area and now yesterday I actually saw snow flakes again. I was hoping not to see them until December but that is the way the weather is here in East Central Illinois.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great Spring so far. Don't fret peeps...SPRING will be back, it's just taking a bit of a nap right now...
Kick back, watch some baseball, root for your favorite teams and remember...just because it's cold doesn't mean you can't grill out...just wear a little more clothing while doing it....
Have a gr8 week...and see ya next week...Peace Out and God Bless...
Later,
Double D
